FPS RTS MMO mouse settings for better match outcomes

Preference of mouse mat

Slick mousepad with texture allows for a improved aiming speed in shooters, it wears out the pads and plastic on the bottom of your mouse more than softpads but they can be replaced with almost any foggy plastic or pad you can find.

Corsair Vengeance Mouse Mat or Razer Destructor mouse mat are specifically what I am referring to. Textured, reflective(reflective statistically does nothing) and slick. Slick and texture are important though they give you speed and stability when shooting. No texture slick desk surface would make your aiming extremely fast but possibly too slick.

Your typical soft mouse mat is easier on the bottom of your mouse if you want to keep it in good shape for as long as possible, this is actually what I'm doing with my Naga Epic but if I was doing competitive FPS I'd most likely go slick with a cheaper Steel Series mouse.

Windows Enhance Pointer precision

Is a lie and the opposite of what it says. Always turn that off or unchecked. It moves your mouse based on house fast you move it, which creates sporadic unreliable aiming. That's bad for first person / third person shooting and aiming.

Mouse Driver Configuration options - Razer - Madcatz ect.

Acceleration you want as low as possible or non existent. Off 0 or 1 if that's the only option.

Low speed with high dpi switch tunes your sensor to max, then adjust your windows and driver mouse speed to your liking. If done properly a lot of games will not need to be adjusted. You will still have to adjust some games and some games may not even allow you to be near the very top end of your DPI. Just pick the lowest setting in game, then turn down your mouses config panels DPI to allow you to turn with a consistent setting recommended below;

Ideally you want to be able to do a 360 of the games camera from center of mouse pad to the edge. Similarly for like a RTS you don't want your mouse to move edge to edge of the screen without hitting an edge of the mouse pad.

Polling rate is mouse communication rate keep it max'd. 1GHz is 1ms. It's like mouse processor speed or bus speed basically.

DPI Switches (Recommended (Razer has 5, madcatz has 4.)

1 Barely too fast to aim.

2 Turn speed / Body shots

         3 Headshots

         4 Sniper

         5 Low painting painting speed

Or the toggle clutch DPI drop down switch which is what I'm now using mostly. Set your DPI at max then the drop down where you would like it usually 800 to 1500 lower than max to have a sniper mode or slower aiming in shooters also useful for doing other tasks in windows. This puts dpi on one button and frees up a button to Razer Synapse.

         Extra mouse Button profiles ideas

          1 FPS

2 MMO/RTS (dpi switcher removed, 8 9 keys mapped to it)

          3 Webbrowse

          4 Gimp

          5 Blender
